La Jolla & Coastal California Interior Design
Luxury interiors for life on the coast.
Blur offers full-service interior design in La Jolla and along the San Diego coast for custom residences, second homes, and substantial renovations. Led by Rebecca Rhodes, our Denver-based studio collaborates with your architect and builder from early planning through furnishings and final installation.
Room to Gather, Inside and Out
A kitchen that opens to the terrace. Outdoor dining that feels as considered as the rooms inside. Comfortable places to gather when the doors are open and when the evening settles in.
We plan these spaces together, considering circulation, lighting, materials, and how you entertain. Our Encinitas kitchen and outdoor-kitchen renovation reflects that approach, connecting the places where the family cooks and gathers.
Throughout the home, art, natural materials, and a mix of contemporary and older pieces bring warmth and individuality. The setting informs the design; your way of living gives it direction.
Rebecca Rhodes brings more than fifteen years of experience, including a decade working within architecture firms.

Yes. Blur welcomes custom residences, second homes, and substantial renovations in La Jolla and along the San Diego coast. Our coastal California portfolio includes a kitchen and outdoor-kitchen renovation in Encinitas.
Can you design our California home if we live elsewhere?
Yes. We guide decisions through remote presentations and organized approvals, with planned site visits and coordination with your local architect and builder. We also manage furnishings procurement, delivery, and installation.
When should we involve an interior designer?
Ideally during architectural planning, before room layouts, lighting, and material decisions are settled. For a renovation, early involvement helps connect the existing home with the changes you want to make.
