02. Where are you based, and do you work outside Colorado?

Blur is based in Denver, Colorado. We welcome projects in Boulder, Aspen, and Colorado’s mountain communities, as well as California, London, and destinations worldwide.

Our work includes custom residences, second homes, significant renovations, and boutique hospitality interiors.

03. How do you work with clients outside Colorado?

We combine remote design presentations with planned site visits, keeping decisions and approvals organized wherever you live. Our studio works directly with your local architect and builder, with a clear point of contact throughout the engagement.

We also coordinate furnishings procurement, receiving, delivery, installation, and styling as included in your project scope. Site visits are planned around the stages that need our presence.

04. What does full-service interior design include?

Full-service interior design takes a project from early planning through final installation. Depending on your scope, that includes layouts, interior detailing, materials and finishes, custom millwork, construction documentation, and coordination with your architect and builder.

We also select furnishings and manage purchasing, delivery, installation, and styling within the agreed scope. Each proposal clearly defines our responsibilities. Explore our design process for the stages involved.

05. Do you work with our architect and builder?

Absolutely. We collaborate with your architect and builder from early planning through construction and installation, bringing the interior perspective into decisions while there’s still time to shape them.

If you’re assembling your team, we can help identify potential collaborators suited to your project. Throughout the process, we hold the design vision steady and work through the details together.

06. When should we hire an interior designer?

For custom homes and significant renovations, we recommend involving an interior designer during architectural planning. Layouts, lighting, materials, and furnishings can then be considered together while key decisions are still open.

07. How long will my project take?

Timing depends on the scope, your architect and builder’s schedule, permitting, and product lead times. A furnishings project follows a different timeline from a full renovation or custom home.

During early planning, we work with your project team to establish a realistic schedule and identify the decisions needed to keep things moving. We’ll discuss your desired completion date at the outset and keep you informed as the project develops.

08. I’m busy. How involved do I need to be?

You don’t need to manage the project day to day. We guide you through the decisions that need your input, with considered recommendations and organized presentations.

Some clients enjoy exploring every material; others prefer a few carefully selected options. We learn how you like to work and shape our communication around that. You’ll still approve the important decisions and investments, with our team handling the design details and coordination.

09. Will my home still feel like me?

That’s the point. We begin with how you live, what you’re drawn to, and the way you want your home to feel.

Your routines, collections, favorite pieces, and even the things you can’t quite put into words help shape the design. We bring a trained eye and a clear point of view, while making room for the personality that could only be yours.

10. Do you offer consultations or partial design services?

Our primary focus is full-service interior design. For those who need focused guidance, Becca also offers a one-on-one design consultation: an hour-long call to explore a specific challenge, review ideas, or help clarify your next steps.

The consultation is $1,500. If you move forward with a design engagement, that amount is credited toward your project.

11. Do you handle furnishings, procurement, and installation?

Yes. We select furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, art, and accessories as part of a cohesive design, then manage the purchasing and coordination included in your scope.

That can include ordering, tracking lead times, coordinating receiving and delivery, resolving issues with vendors, and arranging installation and final styling. When something changes, we work through it and keep you informed, so you have one clear point of contact for the furnishings process.

12. How are your interior design fees determined?

Design fees depend on the scope, complexity, location, and schedule of your project. We begin by discussing what you’re planning and your investment expectations, then prepare a proposal outlining our services and fees.

Construction and furnishings are budgeted separately from design fees. We discuss cost direction early, coordinate with your architect and builder, and review furnishings investment with you as the design develops.

13. Can I hire BLUR for just one room?

We occasionally accept a standalone room when the scope and creative direction are a strong fit. Our primary focus is full-scale renovations, custom homes, and comprehensive furnishings projects, where we can shape the experience as a whole.

14. How do I get started?
