Frequently Asked Questions

01. What types of projects does Blur take on?
Three things, and we do them with our whole heart: full-scale residential, boutique hospitality, and luxury wellness studios. What connects them is a belief that a space should shape how you live, gather, and restore — not just how it photographs. If you're dreaming of somewhere that feels considered down to the last detail, that's exactly where we live.

02. Where are you based, and do you work outside Colorado?
We're rooted in Colorado, but our work travels — coast to coast and abroad. So if you love our aesthetic but assumed we were out of reach, we probably aren't. Wherever your project is, we bring the full studio to it.

03. I'm not local — can we really pull this off from a distance?
Yes, and we do it all the time. We know the worry: how can someone design my space if they're not standing in it? Our process is built for exactly this — we're on site for the moments that truly require it, and design seamlessly from the studio in between. For larger out-of-state projects, we build the travel into the engagement from the start: you're welcome to come to us, or we'll come to you, with those details defined clearly in your agreement so there are no surprises. You'll never feel like distance cost you a thing.

04. What is your design process like?
Immersive, structured, and shaped around you — from the first discovery conversation through concept, development, documentation, and final install. If big projects feel overwhelming from the outside, that's the point of our process: it gives the whole journey a clear shape, so you always know where we are and what's next. You can walk through every step on our [Process page].

05. Do you work with our architect and builder, or bring your own?
Whatever makes your life easier. If you already have an architect and builder you trust, we collaborate with them beautifully. If you're starting from scratch and don't know where to begin, we'll introduce you to partners we love and vouch for. Either way, we hold the design vision steady from first sketch to final install, so nothing gets lost in the handoffs.

06. How long will my project take?
Honestly? It depends on scope — but you deserve a real answer, not a vague one. Most full renovations and new builds run [__ to __ months] from concept to completion, and we give you a clear, realistic timeline early so you're never left guessing. No surprises, no quietly slipping dates.

07. I'm busy — how involved do I actually have to be?
As involved as you want to be, and not one bit more. Some clients savor every selection; others hand us the keys and ask us to surprise them. Both are wonderful. Our process is designed to carry the weight for you — you get the joyful parts, we quietly handle everything behind them.

08. Will my home still feel like me?
This is the fear we take most seriously — that you'll end up in a beautiful space that feels like someone else's. We don't have a signature look we impose. We design around you: how you live, what you're drawn to, the way you want a room to make you feel. The result is unmistakably yours — just fully realized.

09. Do you offer à la carte or partial design services?
Not in the traditional sense — our work is full-service by design. But if you're feeling stuck or just need expert eyes on a decision, Becca offers a one-on-one design consultation: a focused, hour-long call to help you find clarity and point you in the right direction. It's $1,500, and often it's exactly the nudge a project needs to move forward with confidence. Should you go on to work with us, we'll apply it toward your project.

10. Do you handle furniture and procurement?
Completely. Sourcing, ordering, tracking, delivery, the inevitable hiccups — all of it is ours to manage. Every piece arrives as intended, on time, and without the logistics ever landing on your plate.

11. What's the investment to work with Blur?
We believe in transparency here, because uncertainty is stressful. Every project is different, so total scope varies — but our design fees begin at $15,000, and we'll always give you a clear picture of the investment specific to your project before you commit. Great design takes real time, expertise, and care, and our fees reflect that. When you're ready, we're glad to talk through what yours would involve.

12. Can I hire Blur for just one room?
Sometimes — though we'll be honest, our heart is in full renovations and new builds, where we can shape the whole experience. We do take on the occasional single room when it's the right fit: a space that's design-forward, aligned with our aesthetic, and exciting to us. If you have one room you want to be truly extraordinary, reach out — if the timing and the project align, we'd love to..

13. How do I get started?
Simply reach out through our Contact page. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we'll set up an introductory call to hear your vision and walk you through what comes next. No pressure, no obligation — just a conversation.

14. Who is Blur for?
Blur is for people who feel the difference a space can make — homeowners, hospitality visionaries, and wellness founders who want beauty with intention behind it. If you see your environment as an extension of your story, we'd love to help you tell it.
